What is Aufguss?
A sauna ritual originating from Germany in the 1970s. Aufguss translates to “pour-over” and involves the use of water (for steam), essential oils or smokes (for aromatics), and functional towel waving to move the heat and aromas throughout the sauna cabin.
A multi-sensory experience lasting between 9-15 minutes that involves an accompanying soundscape, theme, and optional programming elements such as mindfulness, breathwork, and more. Imagine being guided through a journey of sound, heat, and aromas that quiet the busyness of the mind and welcome a deep connection to the present moment, while evoking everything from calm, clarity, wonder, and awe. As the heat builds to its peak temperature, the doors open, and you step out into the fresh air like a welcomed breath of vitality, embracing the joy of making it to the other side.

She also ranks among the top 10 sauna masters in the USA following a 4th place finish in Show Teams and 5th in Modern Classic at the 2026 USA Aufguss Nationals.
