Ice baths (aka cold-plunging) not only offers a wealth of health benefits, but acts as a great way to help train your nervous system to regulate under stress. By using the breath as an anchor and through somatic cues, we rewire neural pathways to practice conscious awareness to override auto-pilot fight/flight reactions, discerning between what feels uncomfortable versus what’s unsafe, helping to build resilience to stress.
Benefits of Ice Baths

improved mood and increased energy
reduced anxiety and depression
improved circulation
reduced muscle soreness
better immune function

Soma is latin for "of the body". This practice is an inwards journey of observing physical sensations, emotions and energy that flows through the physical body. The process of freeing our thinking mind and returning to our feeling body (aka the soma) is the primary focus of this style of breathwork.

While the format of clearing and repatterning remains consistent, the resulting output can vary from session to session. Your mood or state of mind will vary day to day, so naturally will the insights and end state vary too.
At the start of each session, participants are encouraged to think of a 1-word intention to help ground them with what they want to receive (eg. joy, abundance, openness, forgiveness, etc).
Often participants will like to force or control how a session will go and sometimes the journey takes them in a totally different direction. Neither is good or bad, right or wrong. The invitation is to simply allow your experience to unfold as it's meant to. To leave expectations about how you want yourself to feel. To surrender to the beauty of possibility and that whatever is meant to unfold.

Emotions are energy in motion. When we avoid feelings or suppress how we feel, the energy remains trapped within the body and manifests as dis-ease. While the practice is deeply healing, if you are suffering from thoughts of self-harm and suicide, text HOME to 741741 or call 844- 493-TALK (8255).

Yes of course! Towels, pillows, bolsters are great tools to place under legs for back support, or as props to help with expressing emotions like anger and frustrations. Blankets are also a great option if you tend to get cold. When considering the use of neck support, ensure the chin is lifted away from the chest to allow airways to remain open.

The breath is a powerful tool and different forms of breathwork can be used for different outcomes. The full 90 minute Somatic Breathwork journey can be experienced as often as once a week to monthly depending on your unique needs and circumstances. Shorter practices (eg. the Daily Reset has been designed for more frequent, daily practice).
Note: Somatic Breathwork is not a substitute for medical treatment or psychotherapy and is a great complement towards your holistic preventative healthcare and longevity practices.

There is power in group healing and there is power in 1:1 private sessions. There is no right or wrong format - it really depends on your comfort level.
Some participants feel able to more freely express themselves in private sessions and feel self-conscious about fully opening up in group settings. Others, find hearing others emoting gives them permission to explore similar emotions.
For newcomers to the practice, group sessions can be a great way to access and experience the practice before fully committing to a 1:1 container
If you still have further questions on which format is right for you, we invite you to book a free, no obligation 30 minutes consultation call.
